Wheatland Community Vision
Serving as contract planning staff for the City of Wheatland, Raney Planning & Management, Inc. faciliated the process for establishing the APA award winning Community Vision. The Wheatland Community Vision was adopted in July of 2008.  The Visioning process was a collaborative effort between the City Council, Planning Commission, and the local citizens. The document consists of a vision statement and guiding policies for progressive urban planning and Smart Growth principles. The Community Vision will serve as a guide to City staff in making planning and policy decisions as well as a tool for the public to evaluate the actions of their City government.  The Community Vision is intended to be a “living” document that will continually be updated with relation to new laws, new technology, arising challenges, and the ever changing needs of the community. 

Public Outreach and Public/Meeting Facilitation

Raney’s executive management team and key staff members are expert planners and public facilitators, having made numerous presentations before community groups, Planning Commissions, City Councils and Board of Supervisors.  Raney consistently provides public outreach and facilitation throughout the processing of projects, including entitlements and environmental documents, ensuring close extensive coordination with local jurisdictions, public agency staff, community groups, project stakeholders, project team members, and the public.  Raney’s experience staff members are available to present and facilitate public meetings and hearings, prepare appropriate noticing, and respond to public comments.
