AFFORDABLE HOUSING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
For over 40 years, Laurin Associates, a division of Raney Planning & Management, Inc., has been dedicated to providing excellent services to assist in the provision of affordable housing and community development. Laurin Associates has successfully worked on numerous projects with local municipalities, Housing Authorities, State agencies, including California Department of Housing and Community Development, and for-profit and non-profit developers. Laurin Associates’ current specialties include:
  • Affordable and Market Rate Housing Market Studies;
  • Prevailing Wage and Labor Compliance Monitoring;
  • Residential Relocation Plans and Implementation;
  • Financing Applications;
  • Housing and Community Development Studies;
  • Grant Applications, Implementation, and Administration;
  • HOME Project Administration; and
  • Annual Monitoring for HOME-Assisted Rental Projects.

Laurin Associates is seeking a full-time employee to work primarily in the Laurin Associates Division. An ideal candidate will possess:
  • a Bachelor's degree and an interest in affordable housing and community development programs;
  • excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • strong project management abilities;
  • the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a diverse client base;
  • the ability to work independently, while prioritizing and managing multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines;
  • the ability to interpret governmental regulations;
  • the ability to conduct interviews and make public presentations;
  • knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics; and
  • experience with Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.

Candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. The position requires in-office presence and will require some overnight travel. ASSOCIATE PLANNER
Raney Planning & Management, Inc. is seeking a full-time employee to work primarily in the Raney Division focusing on City and County planning services. This position will support senior planning staff and project managers in research, assist in the writing of staff reports, preparation of policy-level planning documents, facilitation of public workshops and hearings, and support in the preparation of CEQA documents.

An ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning/Urban or City Planning, or related field;
  • Interest in land use planning, including local government land use and application of CEQA;

  • The ability to coordinate and maintain relationships with local agencies and clients;
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • The ability to think critically and logically with experience in reviewing technical documents and creating clear, concise client-friendly reports; and
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and GIS.

The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Experience working on a wide range of public and private sector planning, community development, and CEQA projects; and/or
  • Experience with GIS.

This position requires in-office presence. The salary range is $40,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, Raney offers a competitive benefits package.
